Design Officer

TL;DR

Design Officer (Construction): Assisting in the development and coordination of design documentation from concept to building permit with an accent on reviewing drawings, managing consultants, and permit applications. Focus on coordinating design reviews against contract scope, service relocations, compliance checks, and project handovers.

Location: Onsite in Ortigas, Pasig City, Philippines. Work schedule: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM MNL time (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM AEST).

What you will do

• Review contract and handover documentation, create project scopes for consultants.
• Coordinate design drawing reviews, authority service applications, and service relocations.
• Assess compliance checklists, raise consultant variations, and create CAD sleeve plans.
• Review and approve shop drawings, prepare project handovers.
• Manage consultants, scope, budget, quality, safety, and risks; oversee tendering and variations.
• Handle project communication, meetings, minutes, correspondence, and document control.

Requirements

• 4+ years design experience with clear understanding of design process.
• Knowledge of reviewing and managing architectural/structural shop drawings.
• Proficiency in CAD.
• Understanding of construction methodology, codes, and standards.
• Ability to read construction plans, manage projects, build relationships, self-manage, and identify risks/opportunities.

Nice to have

• Tertiary qualifications in architecture, construction management, engineering, or related.
