Engineering Intern (Summer 2026)

TL;DR

Engineering Intern (Summer 2026): Support the Energetics team with research, analysis, and project support related to energy efficiency, energy transition, and sustainability initiatives with an accent on clean energy consulting for utilities and stakeholders. Focus on gathering technical data, preparing reports and presentations, and coordinating project deliverables.

Location: Remote - Colorado. Preferred: Based in the Madison area.

Compensation: $20–$22 / hour ($17.85–$24.00 range)

What you will do

• Support project teams with research, data analysis, and documentation on energy and sustainability initiatives
• Gather, organize, and summarize technical, market, or policy information
• Prepare reports, presentations, and deliverables for clients
• Participate in team meetings and collaborate on active projects
• Assist with project coordination including tracking timelines and action items
• Perform ad-hoc analysis and administrative support

Requirements

• Currently pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Energy Studies, Environmental Science, Policy, Economics, or related field
• Active enrollment as 3rd/4th year undergrad or Master’s with graduation no earlier than May/June 2026
• Availability for full-time (40 hours/week) summer (early June–early August)
• Authorized to work in the US without employer sponsorship
• Strong analytical and research skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

• Pursuing degree in Business, Communications, English, or Process Engineering
