TL;DR

Senior Payroll Analyst: Independently process weekly and biweekly multi-state payroll using Workday or ADP with an accent on accuracy, compliance, confidentiality, and tax management. Focus on auditing data, reconciling discrepancies, handling garnishments/benefits deductions, and serving as subject matter expert for complex escalations and process improvements.

Location: Austin, Texas. Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance; requires working in the office 3 days per week.

Salary: $69,300 - $103,900 annual (target $85,000)

What you will do

  • Process weekly/biweekly multi-state payroll for exempt/non-exempt employees
  • Prepare/upload large payroll files in Workday or ADP
  • Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, deductions
  • Audit payroll data, reconcile discrepancies
  • Manage payroll taxes, garnishments, benefits deductions
  • Research/implement tax and compliance requirements
  • Act as payroll SME, collaborate cross-functionally, drive process improvements

Requirements

  • 3–5 years Payroll Analyst experience with hands-on processing
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) — required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent
  • Experience using Workday or ADP payroll systems
  • Advanced Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, data analysis)
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, communication skills
  • Authorized to work in US without sponsorship
