Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (AWS)

What you will do

• Manage end-to-end production infrastructure services across AWS, datacenter virtualization, Windows, Linux, and network administration.
• Maintain production processes, including change control and incident response, and provision servers and virtual machines.
• Troubleshoot server, virtualization, operating system, network connectivity, switching, routing, VLAN, and load-balancing issues.
• Design, implement, and maintain AWS core infrastructure, including EC2, S3, VPC, VPN, IAM, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, Route 53, encryption, and certificates.
• Build and maintain infrastructure as code and CI/CD automation using Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, Jenkins, Helm, Puppet, and Packer.
• Collaborate with Cloud Operations, SRE, support specialists, infrastructure and networking teams, and Core Infrastructure colleagues in Germany and the UK; mentor team members and evaluate emerging Cloud and DevOps technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of recent experience managing and automating AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, including CloudFormation and Terraform.
• Strong AWS networking knowledge and experience with VPC and VPN, encryption, certificates, and security services including IAM, SSO, Security Groups, KMS, and CloudHSM; understanding of encryption at rest and in transit.
• Strong EC2 knowledge and advanced Linux skills for updating, supporting, and troubleshooting Linux operating systems.
• Experience with security tooling implementation and management, including Elastic SIEM, CrowdStrike, GuardDuty, or similar tools; experience with antivirus, SIEM, and CSPM security software.
• Strong AWS SysOps knowledge, including Systems Manager, patching, AWS Backups, WAF, and SFTP.
• Experience securing containerized workloads in the cloud; AWS EKS knowledge is beneficial.
• Experience with AWS services including RDS, EFS, EKS, ECS, ElastiCache, and VPC, as well as Datadog.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or another SQL database, Ansible, Git, and CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Nice to have

• Experience or familiarity with F5 load-balancing technologies.
• Experience or familiarity with Juniper networking platforms.
• Experience with open-source networking tools such as HAProxy, Nginx, or Keepalived.
• AWS EKS experience.
• CloudHSM experience.
• GitLab experience.
• Experience with Akamai WAF, security, DNS, or Zero Trust technologies.
