What you will do

• Design and develop scalable, resilient backend systems and microservices.
• Build and operate cloud-native infrastructure on AWS using ECS, RDS, SQS, and Lambda.
• Apply performance engineering to database query plans, indexing strategies, and caching layers.
• Develop APIs and backend services processing hundreds of millions of events daily.
• Leverage AI coding tools and MCP servers to accelerate development and automate internal workflows.
• Participate in code reviews, technical documentation, and on-call production support.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional Python development experience.
• 3+ years of experience building production applications with Django or similar frameworks.
• Demonstrated experience designing high-volume, distributed backend systems.
• Hands-on experience operating production systems on AWS.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL performance tuning and optimization at scale.
• Must have US work authorization and be based in the US (required for 401k and medical benefits).

Nice to have

• Experience with Django Ninja, Celery, or similar distributed task queues.
• Proficiency with AI tools like Cursor, Claude Code, or GitHub Copilot and LLM API integration.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or CDK.
• Knowledge of observability tooling (APM, distributed tracing, structured logging).
