Software Engineer II (Android)

Location: Must be based in Tysons, Virginia (hybrid: 4 days a week in office). Sponsorship is not available for this position.

What you will do

• Develop Android features for the flagship mobile application used by millions of customers.
• Collaborate with iOS engineers, backend teams, QA, and product managers across the full project lifecycle.
• Design and implement real-time video streaming features using HLS/RTSP protocols and Android media frameworks.
• Build responsive, performant UIs following Material Design guidelines and modern Android best practices.
• Research and apply new Android technologies to solve challenging project goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and experience with Android SDK.
• Expertise in modern architecture patterns such as MVVM, MVI, or MVP.
• Understanding of asynchronous programming using Coroutines and Flow.
• Must have valid US work authorization (no immigration sponsorship available).

Nice to have

• Video streaming experience using MediaCodec, HLS/RTSP/WebRTC, or custom implementations.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose for declarative UI development.
• Knowledge of Android NDK/JNI for native code integration.
• Experience with iOS development (Swift, SwiftUI, Objective C).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for Android applications.
