React Engineer (Fintech)

TL;DR

React Engineer (React/NextJS): Developing and optimizing the frontend for the US Unsecured Loans product with an accent on conversion rate optimization, user journeys, and codebase refactoring. Location: Hybrid in London, UK (Work from home Mondays and Fridays, in-office Tuesday-Thursday)

What you will do

• Deliver new features and technical refinements for the US Unsecured Loans product.
• Build new user journeys and optimize conversion rates within existing funnels.
• Maintain, refactor, and improve the codebase and developer tooling.
• Collaborate with product owners to break down business requirements into deliverable tasks and estimates.
• Implement automated testing and advocate for prioritizing the reduction of technical debt.
• Ensure accessibility guidelines and best practices are strictly adhered to.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
• Commercial experience with the latest versions of NextJS.
• Good understanding of automated testing and the testing pyramid.
• Ability to identify technical debt and advocate for code improvements.
• Must be based in or be able to work hybrid in London, UK.

Nice to have

• Experience in a Fintech or startup/scale-up environment.
• Experience with multi-product web applications in a monorepo (Turborepo).
• Knowledge of React Server Components and the NextJS app folder.
• Experience with OpenAPI/Swagger for API contract definition.
• Demonstrable experience with web performance best practices and debugging.
• Experience with UI or UX design.
