Location: Onsite at Detroit/Hamtramck plant, Michigan. GM does not provide immigration sponsorship (H-1B, TN, STEM OPT, etc.). May be eligible for relocation benefits.

What you will do
- Act as primary technical contact for modules and software concerns, supporting plant uptime, quality, and customer experience.
- Drive quality metrics (EFTQ, DRR, GCA) through electrical sufficiency and leadership on module/software issues.
- Document, track, and resolve concerns using PRTS, SPPS, GSIP for clear ownership and corrective actions.
- Analyze test data, logs, snapshots, CAN bus traces to identify root causes and validate repairs.
- Champion Electrical BoO elements like Module Scrap Tracking and lead software/module change implementations.
- Provide direction to VAAs on Bills of Operations and communicate changes to production teams.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers, overseeing test equipment and work instructions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent with substantial automotive electrical experience.
- Minimum 3 years experience with automotive electrical sub-systems, modules, and software in manufacturing or engineering.
- Ability to root cause complex issues using data analysis, diagnostic tools, and standardized processes.
- Proficiency with electrical diagnostic tools (GDS2/MDI, PRTS, SPPS, GSIP) and interpreting vehicle data.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills for fast-paced manufacturing.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of GEPICS/SPR, VeSCoM, software release processes, and change management.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams with suppliers for systemic issues.
- Success in developing Bills of Operations and work instructions for modules/software.
- DVT experience or advanced background in vehicle electrical architecture and networks.
- Knowledge of manufacturing quality systems, GMS, BIQ4, and their impact on vehicle build.
