HSQE Manager – South West

TL;DR

HSQE Manager (South West): Provide health, safety, quality, and environmental advice for energy sites with an accent on inspections, risk assessments, and compliance assurance. Focus on managing HSQE advisors, promoting safe working standards, and leading positive HSQE culture development.

Site-based role in Bristol, Plymouth, Portsmouth, Swindon, Colchester or Slough.

What you will do

• Stop unsafe works, agree safe solutions, and re-brief teams.
• Manage and mentor HSQE Advisors, track KPIs, and optimize team resources.
• Participate in meetings, review CDM documentation, and assure management system effectiveness.
• Conduct task analysis, risk assessments, method statements, and promote sustainable practices.
• Close findings timely, share lessons, and escalate issues.
• Liaise with regulators, lead investigations, and support planning and tenders.

Requirements

• NEBOSH Construction Level 3–6 (or equivalent)
• IOSH Membership Grad–Chartered (or equivalent)
• IEMA Practitioner or above (or equivalent)
• Mental Health First Aider
• Driving Licence
• Understanding of working methods; ability to work weekends/overtime; IT skills including Microsoft 365.

Nice to have

• CSCS, EUSR, PTS.
• Industrial knowledge in infrastructure; management systems basics; site experience; CDM review; sustainability.
• Time management, interpersonal skills, continuous improvement mindset.
