What you will do
- Lead planning and execution of complex and high-risk lifting operations.
- Develop and approve lifting plans and method statements.
- Conduct site inspections and risk assessments for critical lifts.
- Mentor and supervise lifting professionals from trainee to Level 2.
- Coordinate with project managers, crane operators, rigging teams, and subcontractors.
- Review equipment certifications, participate in incident investigations, and contribute to lifting procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, civil, or structural) from ABET-accredited program or equivalent.
- 6+ years construction experience; must complete pre-employment checks including background, drug screen, and motor vehicle records.
- Extensive expertise in lifting and rigging operations.
- Knowledge of safety standards like OSHA and LOLER.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to perform physical demands: lift 50 lbs, work in extreme conditions, climb scaffolds, up to 12-hour shifts on construction sites.
Nice to have
- Current PE (Professional Engineer) license.
- Proficiency in lifting simulation software and CAD tools.
