What you will do

• Lead the design and development of core platform features using Python and an API-first approach.
• Build scalable and reliable backend services integrated with AWS serverless architecture, including Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB.
• Implement frontend features and help manage a growing React project in TypeScript.
• Collaborate with design and product teams to ensure system scalability, maintainability, and security.
• Independently lead proof-of-concept projects and tackle complex architectural and engineering challenges.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools like Cursor and GitHub Copilot to enhance development productivity.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience as a software engineer.
• Strong experience building backend services and APIs using Python in a product-focused environment.
• Proficiency with AWS cloud services, particularly within a serverless architecture.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code, observability tools, and cloud-native best practices.
• Proficiency in using AI tools in the SDLC (Cursor, GitHub Copilot) and/or API integrations.
• Must be based in Canada.
