TL;DR

Software Engineering Intern (Platform, Security & AI): Write backend code and build AI agents for data security and resilience platforms with an accent on scalable infrastructure, agent development, and security tooling. Focus on developing long-running agents, evaluation pipelines, knowledge discovery, and vulnerability management in Kubernetes and AWS environments.

Hybrid: 2-3 days a week in office at San Jose, California. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship.

$40 - $50 USD hourly

What you will do

• Write backend code and automation in Go within production-grade codebase, deploying containerized applications on Kubernetes clusters and AWS (EKS, ECR, IAM).
• Build long-running AI agents for automated breach impact analysis, compliance reporting, and data access auditing across hybrid multicloud environments.
• Develop agent evaluation pipelines to assess reliability and task completion, plus knowledge discovery pipelines for policy and compliance frameworks.
• Analyze Kubernetes configurations for security gaps and manage CVE lifecycle by patching vulnerabilities in container images.
• Create internal tooling, testing harnesses, and security utilities; execute API and cross-service integration tests for system reliability.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• Strong willingness to learn at intersection of Cyber Security, Data Resilience, and AI.
• Comfort in major programming language (Python, Go, or Java); understand data structures, algorithms, and debugging.
• Familiarity with Cyber & Data Security, AI Agents, LLMs, and Agent Evaluations.
• Experience with Kubernetes/containerization and Git/GitHub.
• This role requires you to be in office 2-3 days a week at the San Jose, California location.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Kubernetes/Helm, CI/CD pipelines.
• Exposure to event-driven systems (Redis Pub/Sub, NATS), workflow orchestration (Temporal).
• GenAI concepts: RAG, Vector Databases, Embeddings.
• AI frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph) and AI/ML pipeline development.
