Electrician (Power Plant)

What you will do

• Maintain, repair, test, and operate plant electrical equipment, including exciters, M-G sets, and control systems.
• Install new plant systems such as conduit, raceway, fiber-optic cables, and switchgear.
• Operate switchgear and bus systems associated with 110 Vac through 115K-Vac and 120-Vdc.
• Maintain the Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS) in full compliance with plant protocols.
• Support the Lead Electrician with inventory management, plant documentation, and training of other electricians.
• Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to support work management.

Requirements

• Massachusetts Journeyman Electrician’s License.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial or power plant electrical environment.
• High school Diploma or GED plus 2 years of trade or technical school training in electricity fundamentals.
• Ability to pass a company-provided physical and drug screening.
• Capacity to wear a respirator and work in confined spaces, varying temperatures, and high-noise environments.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and maneuver up to 100 pounds.

Nice to have

• Ability to read and interpret electrical circuit, 1-line, and panel diagrams.
• Strong understanding of power plant circuitry, equipment layout, and switching procedures.
• Advanced skill in the installation and repair of power plant auxiliary electrical equipment.
