Senior Systems Engineer (Distributed Systems)

What you will do

• Lead the design and development of large-scale distributed systems consisting of 1000+ nodes.
• Own critical services across compute and network infrastructure to ensure reliability and performance.
• Drive architectural decisions regarding scalability, fault tolerance, and data consistency.
• Partner with platform and hardware teams to deliver end-to-end production solutions.
• Mentor engineers and define technical standards to raise the team's technical bar.
• Diagnose and resolve complex system-level issues across software and networking layers.

Requirements

• 8–12+ years of experience building and operating large-scale production systems.
• Deep understanding of operating systems, distributed systems, and computer networking.
• Proficiency in multiple languages such as Python, Java, C/C++, or Go.
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation to support production systems.
• Must be based in the US.

Nice to have

• Expertise in Linux systems and performance optimization.
• Knowledge of GPU hardware architecture and system-level optimization.
• Experience with high-performance networking such as InfiniBand or RoCE.
• Background in public cloud or data plane services.
• Experience with MySQL, Redis, or Memcached.
