TL;DR
Software Engineer, Trust (Security): Building authentication and AI-powered risk detection systems to ensure data privacy and security with an accent on fraud mitigation and AI safety. Focus on developing controls for AI and creating scalable guardrails for emerging AI workflows.
Location: Hybrid; Must be based in San Francisco, CA or New York, NY
Salary: $200,000 – $280,000 per year

What you will do
- Develop authentication and product features to ensure the platform is safe and secure by default.
- Build scalable AI-powered systems to detect and mitigate risks, including phishing, spam, and account takeovers.
- Implement AI safety controls and guardrails for AI and custom agents.
- Collaborate with Trust & Safety, Security, Legal, and Product teams to integrate privacy and security into scaling efforts.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of experience building or securing products.
- Strong domain expertise and passion for trust, safety, authentication, security, or privacy.
- Ability to take ownership of ambiguous problems in a fast-paced, unstructured environment.
- Must be based in San Francisco or New York to work from the office on Anchor Days (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday).
Nice to have
- Experience using LLMs or classical ML to solve trust or security problems at scale.
- Experience building AI-enabled applications in production.
- Proficiency in React, TypeScript, Node.js, Postgres, Dynamo, or Memcached.
