TL;DR

Oil Derivatives Trader (Oil & Energy): Identify, develop and execute trading strategies for fuel spreads, time spreads, locational and directional opportunities via plain vanilla or complex derivatives with an accent on arbitrage, refining margins, and seasonal dynamics. Focus on fundamental market analysis, building proprietary models, and cross-commodity strategies with gas, oil, LNG, power and emissions.

What you will do

• Develop and execute trading strategies across oil and energy markets, identifying price drivers and value through arbitrage, refining margins, and seasonal dynamics.
• Contribute to fundamental market analysis and modelling, building proprietary models and collaborating with analysts.
• Support bilateral trading and origination, collaborating across teams for commercially sound decisions.
• Work with analysts, traders, quants, and developers on market strategies, quantitative opportunities, and proprietary infrastructure.
• Follow news on paper and physical oil markets, companies, and regulations; develop cross-commodity strategies.
• Manage daily reporting of trades, positions, P&L, and trading risk within limits.

Requirements

• Fluent in English
• Demonstrated track record of consistent revenue generation and sound decisions in time-critical situations.
• Strong experience in highly commercial environments with detailed knowledge of crude oil and refined product markets.
• Several years trading in crude oil and refined product markets.
• Able to work independently and across teams; explain complex technical subjects to diverse audiences.
• Strong business, organisational, IT and programming skills; educated to degree level or equivalent.

Nice to have

• Knowledge and experience of options trading and gas & power trading.
