Engineering Manager

Engineering Manager (Customer Lifecycle & Engagement): Lead a product team of 6 software engineers and a product owner to deliver software products with an accent on technical excellence, agile practices, and alignment with business strategy. Focus on coaching team effectiveness, defining personal development strategies, and hands-on contributions to product delivery.

Location: Hybrid in Madrid, Spain (60% office, 40% remote), with offices across Europe (Munich, Krakow, Wroclaw, London, Vienna)

What you will do

• Take ownership of product team delivery by setting goals and expectations.
• Maintain technical excellence through best practices and industry trends.
• Foster open communication and collaboration across the organization.
• Align team with business strategy, operating model, and engineering guidelines.
• Coach agile processes and develop team members to meet expectations.
• Participate in recruitment, retention, and technology strategy with domain leads and product owner.
• Contribute hands-on to team products when needed.

Requirements

• At least 8 years in software development with strong engineering and system design fundamentals.
• Proven people management and engineering team leadership.
• Strong expertise in agile methodologies.
• Experience in internationally distributed teams.
• Hands-on with Java/Kotlin (primary), Python (secondary), AWS, DDD, sync/async patterns, large data volumes, monitoring, CI/CD, SQL (PostgreSQL, Oracle), NoSQL.

• Experience contributing to strategic guidelines and frameworks.
