Vice President, Quality Regulatory & R&D

Vice President, Quality Regulatory & R&D (Food & Beverage): Building and leading an integrated technical organization for quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and innovation from concept through commercialization with an accent on product safety, risk management, and scalable R&D. Focus on establishing enterprise systems, overseeing new product pipelines, and advising executive leadership on technical risks and growth strategies.

$220,000-$250,000 base salary + bonus

What you will do

• Own end-to-end quality management systems, food safety protocols, product testing, and manufacturing standards across facilities and partners.
• Lead regulatory strategy, compliance frameworks, ingredient/labeling governance, claim substantiation, and submissions for all markets.
• Provide strategic oversight of R&D pipeline from concept to commercialization, including formulation, pilot production, and scale-up.
• Manage quality incidents, recalls, and risk; build quality culture and scalable testing capabilities.
• Align innovation portfolio to business priorities, set governance for stage-gate decisions, and foster external partnerships.
• Build and lead high-performing Quality, Regulatory, and R&D teams with cross-functional alignment.

Requirements

• 12+ years progressive leadership in quality, regulatory, and/or R&D in food, beverage, or CPG industry; success building technical organizations during growth.
• Deep expertise in HACCP, FSMA, SQF/BRC, FDA/USDA regulations; multi-site manufacturing compliance.
• Proven NPD leadership from concept to launch, including formulation, scale-up, internal/co-manufacturing.
• Executive presence, business acumen; influence partners, advise CEO/exec team/Board.
• Bachelor's in Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering or related; advanced degree (MS, PhD, MBA) preferred.
• Experience in high-growth/PE-backed CPG with scaling, M&A, emerging categories like functional foods.
