Senior Associate, Accounting (Bulgarian)

TL;DR

What you will do

• Develop and maintain accounting systems, including journal entries, General Ledger, AR, AP, and revenue reconciliation.
• Review and interpret financial reporting requirements, rules, and regulations.
• Balance books and prepare P&L, cash flow, income, and balance sheet statements.
• Monitor and generate monthly revenue and expenditure reports for projects.
• Maintain accurate records of assets, liabilities, and other financial transactions.

Requirements

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Solid experience in Bulgarian statutory accounting and local bookkeeping.
• Strong knowledge of Bulgarian GAAP, tax requirements, and statutory compliance.
• Fluency in Bulgarian and English is required.
• Experience with monthly accounting cycles and local ledger maintenance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).

Nice to have

• Experience supporting statutory and tax audits in Bulgaria.
• Exposure to multinational environments and group reporting structures.
• Familiarity with SAF-T reporting requirements.
• Experience in process improvement or transitioning accounting activities from external providers.
