Salary: $75,000 - $80,000

What you will do

• Research, report, and write daily segments
• Determine video and sound for assigned segments
• Communicate story development with senior producer and participate in editorial planning
• Research, write, and edit lower-third banner chyrons
• Lead production of segments for digital platforms including YouTube, social media, and MSNOW DTC products
• Pitch story ideas and produce on-screen content for weekend programming

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• At least 2 years of journalism experience (cable/network news, website, newspaper)
• Strong writing skills and knowledge of American politics, history, and global news
• Strong research and reporting skills
• Must be willing to work weekends, flexible hours under tight deadlines including breaking news

• Ability to develop story ideas, research, and plan segments
• Work with graphics and video elements
• Exceptional editorial skills for provocative television stories
• Knowledge of current events, politics, pop culture, op-eds
• Edit room and breaking news experience
• Proficient in tape and desktop editing
