What you will do

• Maintain stability of the distributed microservice control plane interacting with Kubernetes and cloud provider APIs.
• Develop Kubernetes controllers, operators, and CRDs to extend platform capabilities.
• Automate database lifecycle operations including deployment, resizing, upgrades, and forking.
• Implement and enhance observability and monitoring systems using Prometheus and OpenTelemetry.
• Write idiomatic Go code with high test coverage and perform peer reviews.
• Participate in on-call rotations and perform root cause analysis for system incidents.

Requirements

• 3+ years of software/platform engineering experience.
• 2+ years of production experience with Go (Golang) and Kubernetes operations.
• Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL administration, migration, and performance tuning.
• Experience with distributed systems, microservice architectures, gRPC, and Protobufs.
• Deep knowledge of Linux, Bash, and container environments.
• Must be based in the US or Canada.

Nice to have

• Experience with Rust for developing low-latency, memory-efficient applications.
• Cloud provider expertise in AWS and Azure.
• Experience with self-hosted Kubernetes clusters and CNI/CSI plugins.
• Previous work on Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) or large-scale distributed systems.
