Location: Onsite in Jersey
Compensation: £38,000 - £45,000 / year

What you will do
- Assess needs of children and young people in safe house during admission and stay.
- Plan and deliver needs-led therapeutic, recreational, and play activities for children and mothers individually and in groups.
- Build relationships with external agencies like schools and mental health services to safeguard families and embed child's voice in decisions.
- Educate mothers and agencies on domestic abuse impact on children and advocate for children per safeguarding procedures.
- Hold house meetings for children to influence decisions and provide feedback on activities.
- Maintain records, manage budget for resources, and support schooling and health needs.
Requirements
- Level 3 qualification in childcare, education, health, social care or youth work.
- Adult and Children Safeguarding training (SPB foundation level minimum).
- Experience working with children of all ages including those with additional needs, SEN, and adverse experiences.
- Experience in safeguarding children and planning/facilitating diverse activities.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills; resilience with challenging behavior.
- Good organizational skills, ICT competency, flexibility in hours, commitment to equality and diversity.
Nice to have
- Professional qualification in childcare (degree/diploma in Early Years/Childhood Studies).
- Training in art therapy or play therapy.
- Knowledge of domestic abuse impact, child development, and UNCRC.
