Service Technician, MUII Wind Farm-Escuminac (Quebec)

TL;DR

Service Technician (Wind Farm): Repair and maintain wind turbine generators and related equipment with an accent on safety analyses, preventative maintenance, and root cause analyses. Focus on performing interventions safely at heights, utilizing LOTO procedures, and ensuring reliable 24/7 operations under various weather conditions.

Location: Escuminac, Quebec, Canada (onsite at wind farm). Must be able to work in Canada with no sponsorship, travel to US for training, and reach site within 45 minutes in emergencies. Rotating shifts, overtime, on-call, 24/7/365 operations.

Salary: $35–$40 CAD/USD hourly (non-exempt) + up to 5% bonus

What you will do

• Repair and maintain wind turbines, switch rooms, and O&M building equipment.
• Conduct safety analyses, LOTO, JSA, and documentation for all interventions.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, root cause analyses for failures.
• Support 24/7 operations with shifts, overtime, on-call, and travel to other sites (~10%).
• Read electrical/hydraulic schematics, use tools, and report via Movilizer.
• Maintain tools, certifications, and represent company professionally.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; wind/technical/engineering certification preferred
• 0-1 year wind experience (more = higher pay)
• Ability to work in Canada without sponsorship; fluent English for safety communication
• Certifiable for medium/high-voltage; experience with hand/power tools
• Climb 100m heights, lift 23kg, work in extreme conditions/confined spaces; max weight 120kg
• Valid driver's license, insurable; pass pre-employment physical
• MS Office skills; independent worker in team environment
