Location: Must be based in or be willing to work from the New York City office (Hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 remote)

Salary: $26.50 - $28.04 per hour

What you will do

• Prepare and teach rigorous ESL classes for immigrants and refugees using interactive, learner-centered activities.
• Document student attendance and progress according to funder requirements.
• Support the intake, registration, and outreach of new students.
• Conduct English language skill assessments using tools like Intercambio or Best Plus 3.0.
• Supervise ESL Assistant Interns and collaborate with the Adult Education team in weekly check-ins.
• Complete professional development hours as required by program funders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and TESOL certificate preferred.
• 3+ years of experience teaching ESL to adults from culturally diverse backgrounds.
• Fluency in English language required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Must be based in New York City.

Nice to have

• Second language proficiency in Arabic, Farsi, Dari, Pashto, Spanish, Russian, or French.
