Principal Software Engineer (Automotive)

What you will do

• Review software specifications, architecture, and design documents for the system.
• Develop C++/Linux software components based on internal and customer specifications.
• Perform functional testing, code reviews, and root cause analysis using gdb.
• Implement unit tests and verify software quality at both unit and system levels.
• Collaborate with the SW Engineering Manager and internal/external stakeholders to resolve technical inconsistencies.
• Analyze existing embedded software to add features or port to different platforms.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related IT field.
• 5+ years of experience as a software developer with strong C/C++ knowledge.
• Deep understanding of Embedded Linux Architecture and embedded application development.
• Proficiency in inter-process communication (IPC), threading, and socket communication.
• Good English communication skills (written and verbal).
• Willingness to travel (0-20% of the time).

Nice to have

• Experience with network technologies (TCP/IP, routing, VLANs).
• Previous experience in the automotive industry.
• Knowledge of UML and Agile methodologies (SCRUM, SAFe).
• Linux kernel experience and knowledge of power management or communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART).
