TL;DR
Linux Software Engineer - System Manager (Embedded) (C/Linux/ARM): Architecting and porting system management firmware across the i.MX SoC portfolio with an accent on embedded C development, ARM Cortex-M/Cortex-A support, and Linux-based integration. Focus on developing firmware tests, optimizing system management functions across BSP components, and debugging customer systems.
Location: Bucharest, Romania; flexible work hours and a work-from-home policy are available.

What you will do
- Architect system management features across the i.MX SoC portfolio and drive hardware support for system control.
- Port system management firmware to new i.MX SoCs and development boards.
- Develop tests to improve code coverage and assess firmware performance metrics.
- Integrate and optimize system management functions across System ROM, ELE firmware, U-Boot, ATF, Linux, and MCU SDK components.
- Collaborate with SoC architecture, BSP, and internal support teams to port, debug, and optimize firmware on customer systems.
- Develop documentation and support materials for system management firmware.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of software development experience with embedded systems.
- Proficiency in C programming for embedded systems.
- Proficiency with Linux shell commands and development tools such as Git and make.
- Experience with ARM Cortex-M and Cortex-A architectures, plus knowledge of ARM assembly language.
- At the application stage, candidates must have a valid visa and work permit to work in Romania.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of embedded debugging tools and probes, such as Lauterbach.
- Knowledge of embedded power management, including DVFS, CPUIdle, and suspend-to-RAM.
- Knowledge of HDL, such as Verilog or VHDL.
- Knowledge of the ARM System Control and Management Interface specification.
