TL;DR

Principal Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace): Own end-to-end manufacturing strategy for spacecraft subsystems from concept through production ramp with an accent on DFM, scalable production flows, and advanced automation technologies. Focus on architecting production readiness plans, leading first article builds, developing capacity models, and driving continuous improvements for high-volume satellite manufacturing.

Location: Los Angeles, CA. Must be a U.S. Person per ITAR regulations

Salary: $175,000 – $200,000 + equity

What you will do

  • Lead DFM efforts with design engineering to optimize subsystems for cost, quality, and scalability.
  • Architect production flows for large spacecraft assemblies including electromechanical systems and harnessing.
  • Develop advanced manufacturing technologies, automation, and tooling to support production rate increases.
  • Establish production readiness plans, control plans, work instructions, and line balancing.
  • Mentor junior engineers, lead first article builds, and resolve cross-functional technical issues.
  • Drive capacity models, rate ramp strategies, and continuous improvement for cycle time and yield.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, aerospace, or relevant engineering discipline
  • 5+ years in high-volume, rapid production environment in manufacturing, integration, or design engineering
  • Demonstrated results in product development, process improvements, and scaling production lines.
  • Experience leading first article builds and transitioning prototypes to repeatable production.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive design changes for manufacturability.
  • Deep familiarity with aerospace standards (IPC soldering, torque/welding, AS9100).
  • Strong knowledge of CAD (NX or equivalent) and GD&T.
  • Experience with MES for procedures and non-conformances.
