Cost Engineer

Focus on identifying cost optimisation opportunities, validating supplier costs, and recommending design approaches for lower cost manufacturing without compromising performance.

What you will do

• Coordinate product details for early ballpark cost estimates during the AD phase.
• Develop and maintain should-be cost models reflecting latest product definition throughout prototype builds.
• Review supplier CBOMs to validate costs and identify opportunities.
• Deliver reports on key cost drivers and opportunities.
• Generate critical component lists and support supplier quoting with Supply Chain.
• Provide design recommendations for lower cost manufacturing and support competitive teardowns.
• Participate in product reviews, technical discussions, hack sessions, and weekly updates with China team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
• Experience in engineering, preferably product development or high-volume manufacturing.
• Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, analytical and organizational skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel; basic knowledge of plastics and metal manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks or Creo; strong presentation and communication skills.
• Proactive mindset in fast-paced, collaborative environment.
