TL;DR

Avionics HITL & Test Technician (Aerospace): Support full build and maintenance of HITL test assets, including installation of avionics hardware, wire harness manufacturing, and load simulators fabrication with an accent on electrical checkouts, component assembly, and process validation. Focus on designing and building test racks, fixtures, and interfacing panels while ensuring quality and reliability under high-pace schedules.

Location: Los Angeles, CA. Must be a U.S. Person per ITAR regulations

Hourly pay: $28 - $40 + equity

What you will do

  • Build and maintain HITL test assets, install avionics hardware, manufacture wire harnesses, and fabricate load simulators
  • Assemble production test racks for HITL, acceptance testing, and flight hardware qualification
  • Perform electrical checkouts like continuity, discontinuity, and multimeter measurements on components and systems
  • Support design engineering in specification development, component assembly, and process validation testing
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with engineering and technician teams to meet schedules and quality standards
  • Use hand, power, and pneumatic tools to build fixtures, interfacing panels, and tooling assemblies

Requirements

  • 5+ years assembling, integrating, and testing electronic hardware in aerospace
  • 1+ years SMT/through-hole soldering, electronics equipment, test rack assembly
  • IPC Certified for PCB and cable harness rework (IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620)
  • Hand soldering to IPC J-STD-001, crimping, wire stripping, continuity testing, connector pin outs
  • Ability to drill/tap holes, use shop equipment (drill press, grinders, band saws)
  • Read/review/redline electrical and test rack schematics; strong communication skills
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, stand extended periods, perform repetitive tasks

Nice to have

  • Experience developing company specifications and qualifying build methods for wire harnesses and test racks
