What you will do

• Lead a cross-functional team of 6–9 backend and platform engineers.
• Own the delivery and evolution of core financial systems, including ledgers, reconciliation, and bank integrations.
• Coach and mentor team members through regular 1:1s, with a specific focus on growing senior engineers.
• Define goals, priorities, and success metrics aligned with platform stability and long-term scalability.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and other Fintech teams to plan and deliver a shared roadmap.
• Ensure high standards of reliability, data consistency, and incident management across critical systems.

Requirements

• Experience leading backend or platform engineering teams on modern cloud architectures.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, including event-driven architecture, data consistency, and idempotency.
• Experience working on financial systems, payments, or other high-reliability domains where correctness is critical.
• Ability to challenge technical decisions and guide architecture without being hands-on daily.
• Clear communication skills for working across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
