What you will do
- Lead the development of rigorous techno-economic models for comple physical sciences and engineering systems.
- Systematically gather process models and numerical data from scientific and industry literature.
- Architect systems that define boundaries, pathways, and mass-energy balances, including yield and throughput calculations.
- Perform deep-dive assessments of CAPE and OPE constraints and plant configurations based on market data.
- Implement Monte-Carlo simulations and scenario analyses to stress-test financial models.
- Prototype the use of machine learning and agentic frameworks to automate TEA workflows.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Masters or PhD program in engineering, science, or a related field.
- Eperience building comprehensive techno-economic analysis (TEA) and scenario models.
- Proficiency in process modeling tools such as Aspen HYSYS, Aveva, ChemCAD, or DWSIM.
- Epertise in financial modeling and uncertainty quantification (e.g., Monte Carlo).
- Location: Must be based in Mountain View, CA
Nice to have
- Industry eperience in physical or applied science fields.
- Interest or eperience with LLMs, agentic workflows, and frameworks like Langchain or VerteAI.
- Comfort with ambiguity and a high tolerance for project failure.
