TL;DR
Director, Social Services & Adjacent Markets (Sales): Building a new book of business within HHS and adjacent social services markets with an accent on federal procurement, relationship cultivation, and delivery-informed business development. Focus on extending CMS roots into ACF, CDC, and other agencies by aligning federal program intent with procurement reality.
Location: US Remote (Preference for candidates in the MD/DC area)
Salary: $180,000 to $230,000 base, plus commission and performance-based equity

What you will do
- Represent the company at HHS-focused conferences and build a visible presence across CMS, CDC, and ACF.
- Develop relationships with program offices to shape real opportunities and connect federal program intent to procurement reality.
- Collaborate with active delivery teams to maintain client intelligence and identify expansion opportunities.
- Vet potential opportunities against strategic fit, win probability, and delivery alignment.
- Lead partner and teaming negotiations and manage the social services BD pipeline with discipline.
- Represent applied AI capabilities to government stakeholders and utilize AI tools for research and pipeline analysis.
Requirements
- 8+ years in business development, partnership management, or strategic roles within technology or consulting.
- Deep understanding of the HHS landscape (CMS, CDC, ACF) and how these agencies procure technology services.
- Knowledge of how federal health and social services programs intersect with state-level implementation.
- Strong communication skills and experience working cross-functionally with contracts, finance, and delivery teams.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (the company is unable to sponsor visas).
- Ability to use AI-enabled tools in business development practices with sound judgment.
Nice to have
- Previous federal government service at VA, CMS, or a similar agency.
- Familiarity with joint venture structures, including SDVOSB and 8(a) mentor-protege.
- Experience working alongside SDVOSBs or 8(a) firms and understanding set-aside strategy.
- Familiarity with agile software development practices.
