M&A Associate (Software)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Base salary: CAD $100,000–$140,000 annually, excluding annual bonus and equity when applicable.

What you will do

• Source and evaluate software acquisition opportunities with the M&A and executive teams.
• Lead discussions with business owners, advisors, bankers, and senior executives.
• Build financial and operational models and analyze valuation, financial, and non-financial information.
• Drive acquisition processes, including financial, sales, marketing, and operational due diligence.
• Prepare investment memorandums for board approval and develop integration strategies.
• Coordinate legal, technology, HR, and tax diligence and support the finance, operations, and integration of acquired businesses.

Requirements

• Degree in Business or Finance from a competitive institution and a strong academic record.
• At least 4 years of M&A experience in private equity, investment banking, transaction advisory, corporate development, or a software-specific industry.
• Expertise in financial modeling and preparing structured analysis.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with senior executives.
• Strong understanding of technology and passion for the software industry.
• Ability to work flexible hours and pursue ambitious career goals in a fast-growing organization.
