Associate, Global Investment Banking

Location: Toronto, ON; on-site full-time at Toronto-161 Bay St., 6th. Candidates must be legally eligible to work at the specified location and, where applicable, hold a valid work or study permit.

Annualized base salary: $135,000 CAD, plus participation in an annual discretionary incentive or bonus program.

What you will do

• Conduct industry, company, and market research to identify opportunities and support strategic client recommendations.
• Prepare client presentations, pitch materials, and other deliverables for business development and active mandates.
• Build, review, and audit sophisticated financial models and perform comparable company, precedent transaction, cash flow, and returns analyses.
• Support due diligence and advisory and financing transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and equity and debt financings.
• Coordinate with internal product groups and business partners across hirify.global Capital Markets to develop proposals and integrated client solutions.
• Maintain internal and external relationships, contribute to client and deal discussions, and keep group materials and databases current.

Requirements

• 3–4 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, private equity, project financing, or a related field, including meaningful financial modeling and analytical responsibilities.
• Degree in finance, accounting, mathematics, computer science, economics, or a related field.
• Strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of valuation methodologies, financial statement analysis, and accounting principles related to business combinations and transaction execution.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as industry tools such as FactSet and Bloomberg.
• Strong working relationships, clear communication of complex information, and effective cross-team collaboration.
• Sound judgment, strong motivation, effective prioritization, accountability, and the ability to deliver accurate work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• CPA or CFA designation, or progress toward one.
• MBA or Master of Finance.
• Experience supporting investment banking transactions in the Consumer, Industrials, Technology, Media, or Telecommunications sectors.
