Salary: $256,000 - $320,000 USD (Tier 1 markets)

What you will do

• Lead cross-functional legal projects from intake to resolution, coordinating strategy across Product, Engineering, Finance, and BD teams.
• Provide real-time legal guidance to product and engineering teams on new features, product enhancements, and go-to-market strategy.
• Monitor and manage federal and state regulatory developments (CFPB, state AGs) and assess business impact.
• Advise senior leadership on consumer regulatory risk, enforcement trends, and litigation exposure across product lines.
• Review and negotiate BD and partner agreements focusing on consumer regulatory risk.
• Develop and own the legal AI governance framework and expand legal tech infrastructure.

Requirements

• 7+ years of legal experience with deep consumer financial services expertise in fintech, banking, or regulatory agencies.
• Strong knowledge of CFPB rulemaking, Reg Z/TILA, UDAP/UDAAP, money transmission, and state licensing.
• Proven track record of influencing senior leadership and advising product/engineering teams.
• JD from an accredited law school and active bar admission required.
• Ability to operate quickly with incomplete information and communicate in clear, plain English.
