What you will do

• Develop and maintain LLM-powered agent services, workflows, and MCP tools.
• Optimize retrieval and ranking using hybrid retrieval, query rewriting, and chunking strategies.
• Create and execute rigorous evaluations to measure and improve agent performance in production.
• Tweak prompts and adjust retrieval parameters to reduce latency and increase quality.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and product teams to ship well-scoped features end-to-end.

Requirements

• Production software engineering experience with a history of shipping customer-facing features.
• Strong proficiency in modern Python, including type hints, async/await, FastAPI, and SQLAlchemy.
• Demonstrated curiosity or experience with LLMs, RAG, and agentic systems.
• Solid computer science fundamentals regarding HTTP, databases, and distributed systems.
• Comfort with Docker and cloud environments (GCP preferred).
• Must be based in Toronto to support the hybrid office schedule.

Nice to have

• Experience with Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, or vector databases (Pinecone, PGVector, FAISS).
• Familiarity with Temporal, Pydantic-AI, or LangChain.
• Exposure to MLOps tooling like Logfire or Langfuse.
• Background in NLP, information retrieval, or search.
