What you will do

• Develop real-time messaging and encrypted media exchange using cutting-edge standards like MLS.
• Optimize message processing, rendering, and synchronization for high-performance, offline-capable workflows.
• Lead technical initiatives to improve overall system architecture and developer experience.
• Drive architectural decisions through well-reasoned RFCs, ADRs, and collaborative code reviews.
• Modernize legacy components to enhance app scalability and maintainability.
• Mentor other engineers to help them grow and take on broader ownership of features.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Frontend or Full-stack development, including Senior or Tech Lead roles.
• Expert-level knowledge of React and frontend architecture.
• Experience with local client-side databases (IndexedDB), Web Workers, and WASM-based libraries.
• Proficiency in modular codebases/monorepos using Webpack and CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
• Strong testing expertise with unit, integration, and e2e coverage using Playwright.
• Fluent English proficiency and must be based in Germany or the EU.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Electron, including IPC design, preload boundaries, and notarization.
• Familiarity with secure messaging protocols such as MLS, WebRTC, or E2EE media flows.
