TL;DR

MEL Manager (International Development): Supporting the operationalisation of the REnew Pacific MEL Framework to ensure reporting on delivery performance and development impact with an accent on data collection, analysis, and research. Focus on implementing monitoring methodologies, creating Power BI dashboards, and providing technical assistance to project partners.

Location: Australia (Melbourne or Brisbane preferred) or Pacific Island based. Candidates must have valid right to work in the country where they are based; hirify.global cannot provide work authorisation sponsorship.

What you will do

  • Implement the REnew Pacific MEL Framework in coordination with the Senior MEL Manager and implementation partners.
  • Coordinate the collection and collation of quantitative and qualitative data at project and program levels.
  • Maintain the program management information system (MIS) and develop interactive Power BI dashboards for monitoring and reporting.
  • Provide technical assistance, guidance, and coaching to project partners to improve their monitoring and reporting capabilities.
  • Collaborate with GEDSI and Communications Advisers to capture and disseminate knowledge and lessons to stakeholders, including DFAT.
  • Produce monthly, 6-monthly, and annual performance reports and support the delivery of regional learning events.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in environmental science, geography, international development, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience in the Pacific region and/or international development.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing monitoring, reporting, research, and learning strategies.
  • Proficiency in Power BI for designing interactive dashboards and thematic maps.
  • Knowledge and understanding of DFAT aid policies and strategies.
  • Valid right to work in the country where based (no sponsorship available).

Nice to have

  • Specific qualifications in monitoring, evaluation, research, and data management.
  • Understanding of climate change and disaster risk resilience issues within the Pacific Islands context.
