TL;DR

Engineer Subsystem Lead Tower Access & Safety Systems (Mechanical Engineering): Technical coordination of access and safety systems within wind turbine towers with an accent on system architecture, safety standards, and cross-functional alignment. Focus on designing robust solutions for steel and hybrid towers, coordinating DFMEA, and improving technical standards.

Location: Hybrid (Rostock or Hamburg, Germany). Up to 8 days of mobile work per month.

What you will do

  • Lead the technical development of tower access and safety systems, including ladders, lifts, platforms, and doors.
  • Act as the central interface between engineering, service, HSE, product safety, and sourcing.
  • Represent the subsystem in interdisciplinary meetings for steel and hybrid tower concepts.
  • Present system status, risks, and challenges in review and decision boards.
  • Coordinate and maintain DFMEA within the area of system responsibility.
  • Collaborate with design teams to define and continuously improve technical solutions.

Requirements

  • Completed degree in mechanical engineering or a comparable engineering qualification.
  • Several years of experience in mechanical component development, preferably related to towers.
  • Solid knowledge of steel, sheet metal, or welded constructions.
  • Experience in cross-functional technical coordination and stakeholder alignment.
  • Familiarity with structured development processes and methodologies.
  • Fluent English skills; German or Spanish are considered an advantage.
