TL;DR

Software Engineer, Localization, Calibration & Mapping (Robotics): Identify and solve gaps in localization and mapping systems operating in mixed indoor and outdoor environments with an accent on sensor calibration across sensors, time, and vehicles. Focus on implementing new localization capabilities, developing online validation tools, maintaining topographical maps, and collaborating with autonomy teams for system deployment.

What you will do

  • Identify and solve gaps in the current localization and mapping system for mixed indoor/outdoor environments
  • Implement, deploy, test, and maintain new localization capabilities for the autonomous system
  • Develop and maintain sensor calibration across sensors, time, and vehicles
  • Develop online validation and calibration tools
  • Develop and maintain topographical maps of the operating environment
  • Collaborate with localization, planning, perception, and infrastructure teams to deploy the autonomous system

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s candidate in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or related field
  • 1+ years in robotics, industrial automation, or autonomous driving development
  • Theoretical knowledge in localization or calibration
  • Strong C++ programming
  • Experience with Linux (Ubuntu, Debian), ROS/ROS2 middleware, OpenCV
  • Experience with non-linear optimization (graph-based, EKF, UKF, Particle filters)
  • Experience with sensors: LiDARs, Camera, IMU, GPS/GNSS, Radar
  • Highly collaborative with strong problem-solving and communication skills

Nice to have

  • MS or PhD in Computer Science, Math, Robotics, or related
  • 2-4 years in robotics, industrial automation, or autonomous driving
  • In-depth ROS2 understanding
  • Experience with factor graphs, graph SLAM, Ceres, GTSAM, g2o
  • GPS/GNSS integration into INS solutions
  • Track record in unmanned systems deployment
  • Modern C++ (14+), safety-critical coding
  • Open source: google cartographer, slam toolbox, kalibr, ORB-SLAM 3, etc.
