TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (Behavior Planning): Designing and building decision-making layers for autonomous ground handling vehicles with an accent on multi-agent interaction modeling and rule-based decision-making. Location: Remote or Hybrid (Atlanta, New York City, South San Francisco). Available in the USA, Canada, UK, Netherlands, Germany, France, Poland, and Sweden.

Salary: $144K – $180K (SF/NY), CA$147K – CA$184K (Toronto) + Equity

What you will do

  • Develop and implement advanced behavior planning algorithms for autonomous vehicles.
  • Design, write, and maintain efficient, scalable code using C++ and Python.
  • Conduct extensive testing in simulated and real-world airport environments to validate algorithms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of planning systems.
  • Analyze system performance and implement enhancements based on data and feedback.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of algorithms and system designs.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in modern C++ (11/14/17) and object-oriented programming.
  • Skill in Python for rapid prototyping and testing.
  • Deep understanding of state machines, behavior trees, and probabilistic planning.
  • Familiarity with path planning algorithms such as A*, RRT, or optimization-based methods.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of industry experience in autonomous driving or robotics.

Nice to have

  • Experience with ROS / ROS2.
  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques for behavior prediction and planning.
  • Experience implementing high-frequency re-planning systems with minimal latency.
  • PhD in Robotics, AI, Mathematics, or control theory.
