TL;DR
Senior DevOps Engineer (Kubernetes): Designing and implementing global-scale cloud migration and modernization efforts for a commercial client with an accent on Kubernetes orchestration, AWS EKS, and GitOps practices. Focus on converting high-level architectural ideas into performant, maintainable systems and resolving complex production incidents at the node and kernel level.
Location: Remote, but must reside within 100 miles of Alexandria, VA or Philadelphia, PA for in-person collaboration and interviews.
Salary: $145,000 - $175,000

What you will do
- Lead the architecture, design, and launch of complex, global-scale systems for commercial clients.
- Manage the full software development lifecycle, from user story generation through operational support.
- Implement and optimize Kubernetes clusters via EKS and Helm charts.
- Drive infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practices using Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
- Perform deep Linux diagnostics to resolve production incidents at the node and kernel level.
- Collaborate on code reviews and define technical standards to elevate team quality.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in Software, Data, or DevOps Engineering and 3+ years with AWS.
- Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Residency within 100 miles of Alexandria, VA or Philadelphia, PA is required.
- Expertise in building enterprise-scale applications with Kubernetes and Helm.
- AWS Associate-level certification (or ability to obtain it within 12 months of start).
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
Nice to have
- Experience building and operating Kubernetes in on-premise environments.
- Familiarity with Databricks, Spring Boot, Spark, Hive, or Kafka.
- Financial services industry experience or familiarity with regulated data environments.
- Experience with authentication and authorization systems.
