TL;DR

Director, Category (IT Distribution): Shaping and executing business strategies for defined product categories within a global IT ecosystem with an accent on P&L accountability, digital transformation, and vendor relations. Focus on driving revenue growth, optimizing go-to-market execution via the Xvantage™ platform, and managing executive-level partner relationships.

Location: Must be based in Buffalo, NY or Greer, SC, USA. This position requires significant travel, up to 50%.

Salary: USD $155,700 - $272,500 per year

What you will do

  • Own end-to-end category performance, including P&L accountability and driving profitable growth.
  • Develop and execute category strategies leveraging the Xvantage™ platform and data insights.
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with vendor C-suite and channel partners.
  • Lead and develop high-performing teams to execute vendor strategies aligned with company priorities.
  • Drive digital transformation by integrating scalable programs to enhance partner engagement.
  • Monitor IT distribution trends, hybrid cloud adoption, and edge computing to identify new revenue opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 8+ years of leadership experience in vendor management, category management, or market development in IT distribution.
  • Proven ability to own P&L performance and deliver measurable vendor outcomes.
  • Experience navigating multinational, matrixed environments and complex vendor engagement models.
  • Extensive technical aptitude regarding channel strategy and emerging IT trends.
  • Must be based in or able to work from the United States.
