TL;DR

Senior UI/UX Designer (GovTech): Leading UX strategy and design execution for enterprise-level VA applications with an accent on accessibility and user research. Focus on creating scalable design patterns, mentoring junior designers, and integrating AI-enabled tools to improve Veteran workflows.

Location: Remote (US). Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.

Salary: $81,850 - $130,950 Annually

What you will do

  • Lead complex UX initiatives across multiple VA systems and product lines.
  • Create advanced prototypes, workflows, and interaction models using Figma.
  • Plan and lead Veteran-centered research studies and usability evaluations.
  • Ensure all solutions meet Section 508/WCAG accessibility standards.
  • Explore and integrate AI tools to enhance workflow analysis and research synthesis.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level designers and drive alignment with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of UX/UI experience (or commensurate experience).
  • Expert proficiency in Figma, prototyping, and complex UX workflows.
  • Deep knowledge of Section 508/WCAG accessibility and compliance.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance.

Nice to have

  • Experience working with VA or other Federal agencies.
  • Familiarity with complex Veteran-facing systems and policy-driven workflows.
  • Experience contributing to or governing design systems.
  • Experience evaluating and responsibly integrating AI-enabled tools.
