What you will do

• Develop original artwork for project concepts, including exploratory designs and refined production-ready assets.
• Create clear and expressive character turnarounds, pose sheets, and supplementary drawings in 2D and/or CG formats.
• Conduct visual and thematic research to ensure authenticity, originality, and alignment with the narrative.
• Collaborate in brainstorming sessions with directors and art leads to generate inventive character concepts.
• Apply deep understanding of human and animal anatomy to create believable and dynamic character designs.
• Manage production-ready files and timelines to meet strict film production schedules.

Requirements

• 8+ years of character design experience on animated feature films.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
• Solid understanding of human and/or animal anatomy.
• Strong visual storytelling skills and the ability to design characters that support performance.
• Must be, or be willing to become, a member of The Animation Guild Local 839.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of Autodesk Maya, Blender, or ZBrush.
