What you will do

• Lead civil/site design for grading, drainage, stormwater management, and utility systems.
• Direct and review construction documents, engineering calculations, and technical narratives.
• Manage permitting strategies and lead responses to agency comments (especially NYC/NJ agencies).
• Oversee project scope, schedule, budget, and risk management for multiple assigned projects.
• Serve as the primary day-to-day client contact and mentor junior staff.
• Support business development by developing technical approaches and fee estimates for proposals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 8+ years of progressive civil/site engineering experience leading design and producing permit documents.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and communicate effectively with clients and agencies.
• Experience with green infrastructure, hydrologic/hydraulic analysis, and utility conflict resolution in urban areas.

Nice to have

• Strong familiarity with NYC (NYCDEP, NYCDOT) and NJ (NJDEP) approval pathways.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, HydroCAD, HEC-HMS, or HEC-RAS.
• Experience supporting construction administration (RFIs, submittals, field coordination).
• Additional active PE licenses in multiple states.
