Export Control Specialist (Aerospace & Defence)

Location: Hybrid (Los Angeles, USA). Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or Department of Commerce.

What you will do

• Ensure full compliance with US export regulations (ITAR/EAR) and own all export control classifications.
• Manage licenses and documentation for international shipments, maintaining audit-ready records.
• Provide early-stage guidance to Sales and Commercial teams to identify export-related risks and constraints.
• Collaborate with Operations to ensure shipments meet regulatory requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments for new opportunities and liaise with government agencies.
• Develop internal export control policies and train teams on best practices.

Requirements

• Extensive working knowledge of ITAR, EAR, and US export control frameworks.
• 2-3 years of experience in a similar compliance role.
• Proven ability to manage complex compliance documentation with high attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with Commercial, Ops, and Sales teams.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States and meet government export control regulations.

Nice to have

• Experience in defence, aerospace, dual-use goods, or regulated technology.
