What you will do

  • Lead global HS code strategy, focusing on HTSUS and U.S. compliance for assemblies and engineered equipment.
  • Manage origin determination under USMCA and other trade agreements, reviewing BOMs and issuing certifications.
  • Act as the primary technical contact for customs brokers, authorities, and external legal experts.
  • Lead binding rulings, post-entry corrections, and duty recovery initiatives.
  • Integrate customs compliance into the selling process and internal ERP/MRP software stacks.
  • Develop scalable SOPs and maintain audit-ready documentation aligned with CBP reasonable care standards.

Requirements

  • University degree in business, international trade, engineering, law, or a related field.
  • Formal training or certification in customs/trade compliance.
  • 5–10+ years of experience in global trade compliance (broker, consultancy, or similar).
  • Deep expertise in HTSUS, USMCA, tariff shift, and substantial transformation.
  • Experience reviewing complex BOMs and collaborating with engineering teams.
