TL;DR

Senior Business & Legal Affairs Manager (Media): Negotiating and drafting complex unscripted production and development agreements with an accent on rights management and risk mitigation. Focus on designing commercial structures for high-value deals and providing senior legal guidance for global content distribution.

Location: Hybrid (London, UK). Must be based in the UK and able to work from the London office at least 2 days per week.

Salary: Up to £100,000 plus London Weighting Allowance and 15% Bonus OTE.

What you will do

• Negotiate and draft a wide range of complex unscripted production and development agreements, including talent and commissioning deals.
• Anticipate and mitigate legal, financial, and reputational risks while proposing alternative business strategies.
• Act as the principal point of contact for production areas, delivering high-quality legal and business affairs advice.
• Design and implement structures for complicated rights and commercial deals in unscripted production.
• Provide line management and supervision support to Business Affairs Managers and Executives.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with internal BBC teams and external key contacts.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with an appropriate level of PQE.
• Significant experience in drafting television production rights agreements and managing legal risk.
• Highly business-oriented approach with recent experience in a commercial organization.
• Proven experience in line management.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.

• Experience negotiating agreements with global streaming platforms such as Netflix, Amazon, or Apple.
