What you will do

• Build foundational infrastructure, tooling requirements, and operational processes for model evaluations and safety.
• Establish model safety operations, including workflows, review cadences, and decision frameworks.
• Partner with research and engineering leads across pre-training, mid-training, and post-training to embed safety checkpoints.
• Drive scoping and prioritization of evaluation science and infrastructure investments.
• Manage engagement with the external safety ecosystem, including third-party assessments and academic partnerships.
• Create visibility and reporting structures for leadership to monitor model safety status and open risks.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in technical program management, research operations, or ML engineering.
• Strong familiarity with model evaluation and AI safety, including red-teaming and alignment research.
• Technical ability to engage with researchers on model behavior, data pipelines, and system architecture.
• Proven track record of building new functions and programs from scratch (0-to-1).
• Strong stakeholder management skills spanning technical ICs, leadership, and external partners.
• Must be based in or be able to relocate to San Francisco.
